Winona Van Norman TCS-36 Airless Blaster with DC-1 Dust Collector
Reduce Energy, Labor, and Material Costs Eliminate Chemical Hazards and Disposal Problems Speed Up Your Line - Maximize Your Profits Winona Van Norman’s proven approach to automotive parts cleaning has been expanded to handle larger loads, including diesel blocks and heads. The main elements of the system include: 36 Blaster - An airless shot blaster with a 39-inch rotor.
Stage Two:
The 36 Airless Shot Blaster is the ideal companion to the
eliminator; using the same basket makes unloading and
reloading between operations totally unnecessary. Using steel
shot as large as S-330, the blaster removes carbon, rust, paint,
scale and is quick and efficient. The 39-inch rotor throws a
continuous wall of shot, completely blanketing the parts, unlike
other machines that use smaller impellers and smaller streams
of shot. The rotor is driven by the standard 7.5 hp motor,
cutting cycle time down to about ten minutes for a fully loaded
basket – a marked improvement over any compressed air
machines. The 36 Blaster drive system turns the basket 1.8 RPM
to better direct shot into all areas of the parts to ensure complete cleaning.
Strength and Durability:
The 39-inch rotor features replaceable chrome wear strips. A 25% chromium steel alloy which features
intrinsic wear and corrosion resistance ensures long life and low maintenance. Special replaceable alloy
wear plates are installed throughout the machine to protect it from damage and shot.
Unique Bearing Protection:
To greatly increase reliability and operating life, the main rotor shaft is a full 1-3/4 inches in diameter. The
4-bolt flange rotor shaft bearings are mounted outside the housing and protected by two seals on each
end to keep shot out of the bearings. The seal waste pack cast housings have bottom apertures so that any
stray shot that leaves the housing will drop to the floor rather than enter the bearings.
Unequaled Dust Control:
Winona Van Norman’s 1 hp, DC-1 Dust Collector has 8 flame retardant bag filters that efficiently capture
dust and minimize emissions. A Handy shaker drops the captured dust into a standard 55-gallon drum. A
HEPA filtration system is a recommended option.
Basket Mover: To Speed up the whole system, an overhead monorail is available for loading and transferring loaded baskets between workstations. The monorail has a lifting capacity of 2,000 pounds and includes a spreader bar.
A Selection of Baskets: Two baskets are available for the WVN Thermal Cleaning System.
• A universal basket
• A tumble basket
The baskets are easy to use. Spring-loaded locking bars slip quickly into place the parts in place; V-8 and in line auto blocks are secured by fastening a series of locking bars. Since baskets are loaded from the top hoisting them in and out of the machine is simple and easy. SYSTEM SUMMARY While all of this equipment is designed to work as a highly efficient integrated system, each of the machines will fit right into your present operation as well. To make work easier and faster, each machine features power control of the counterweighted covers. Just the push of the button raises or lowers them with no operator effort at all. All three machines, the Eliminator, the Blaster and the Shaker are built to take it in the most punishing environments. Cabinets and structural members are made of heavy steel plate and basket rotator bearings are mounted externally to avoid damaging abrasive particles. The alloy-steel used in the Blasters rotor has been timed-tested in years of successful operation. As an added reliability feature, variable-slip clutches have been designed into both the Eliminator and Blaster to prevent damage to the drive components in case of a jam. An added safety feature is an interlock system that does not allow the machines to operate unless the cover is closed. Additional automated cycling features reduce hazards to a minimum.
